Breaking up is hard...nah, It's FUN! : 2002-10-15
For those of you who signed the guestbook and gave me your advice, thank you.

For those of you who ignored my plea for help? You need to call your friends/s.o./sibling...etc, and ask them how they're doing.

Because you are obviously a cold-hearted, self-centered, kitten-strangling dictator and I'm sure you wouldn't want the blood of your loved ones on your hands.

But I digress.

And alright I forgive you.

* * *

This morning, my boss asked if I wanted to have lunch with him. That usually means 1) He's leaving to another city or 2) I'm in trouble for something.

It was the latter.

Apparently I haven't shown enough leadership qualities and haven't done enough to rally the troops' morale with the upcoming November Sweeps just around the corner.

It's always fun being told you're not putting your heart into your job over a medium rare steak at The Palm and a glass of merlot.

I told him that our version of television news is more like entertainment and shock therapy, and he told me that that's what fox is all about.

I told him that he's changed since we've first started doing this tv thing. He says he hasn't.

I told him he shouldn't cheat on his wife and ask me to cover for him. He told me to not talk about that.

I told him that my heart's no longer into producing tabloidy news and it never there in there first place. He told me to stay til May and help him finish the Philadelphia Project.

I told him I'd think about it.

The result of the conversation is that we've sorta decided that Philadelphia will be our last little project together and that after all these years we'll be going our separate ways.

It was a good break up. But for him it's more like we're breaking up right before going to a family wedding.

Oh we're still going, we're just no longer a couple.

So NOvember's gonna be awkard.

In the meantime, your's truly is going to find another job.

I've got half a mind to move back to nyc, work in a coffee shop, and just read and play chess all day.

Now I just need a trust fund.
